The Chamber follows political, economic, investment, energy, and business developments across Portugal and Germany. It also helps member companies notice commercial opportunities in the Portuguese market.
The information is public, but relevance still has to be worked out. Someone has to check the sources, select what matters, connect it to the right audience, and prepare something useful. Each week brings around 440 new public tender notices and about 1,000 member companies they might fit. Done by hand, that took senior time and limited how systematically the Chamber could scan and match.

Without the workflow, staff begin with a source or an empty document. With the configured workflow, they begin with a sourced first pass. The judgment stays with the Chamber, but it happens after the collection, filtering, and initial drafting work.

One research stream can serve several parts of the Chamber.
Every Monday morning the Chamber's leadership receives an executive briefing in German, built from sources AHK Portugal selected, and a Portuguese edition, Mercado Alemão, goes to its Portuguese audience. Each item separates the facts, why they matter, and the interpretation. The test for every item is whether it could change a decision for a German executive working in or with Portugal.
Before a briefing goes out, a verification step checks the draft against its sources. It was added after an early run presented a dated article as current news. AHK Portugal adjusts the source mix, editorial voice, topic priorities, and format as it reviews the work.

A tender becomes useful when the right member can see the fit.
Every Monday the tender radar reads the open notices on Portugal's public procurement portal, filters them by contract value, sector, region, and deadline, and compares each one with the profiles of about 1,000 member companies. Each proposed match comes with the reason it may fit, and the official link.
Staff accept, change, or reject every suggestion before any member is contacted. In one reviewed run, staff kept six of eight proposed matches and added three of their own. The radar does the scanning; the people who know the members make the call.

Both services were built in short loops: a first working version, real outputs reviewed by the Chamber, then changes to sources, criteria, voice, and format. A line-by-line review of an early briefing reshaped its voice: facts, relevance, and interpretation now sit apart, with the Chamber as observer.
This is important because factual correctness is only one part of useful work. A topic may be accurate but wrong for the Chamber's voice. A company may operate in the right sector but still be a poor fit for the tender. Staff feedback changes the next run.

The pattern extends beyond a chamber of commerce. Associations, advisory firms, and market-facing teams often monitor a broad information field and turn a small part of it into a brief, alert, recommendation, or client update.
A useful starting point already has a recipient, a cadence, known sources, a clear human decision, and an observable standard for a good first pass. That makes the workflow easier to test against real work. It also gives the team a better measure than the number of prompts or documents generated.
